Healing Through Massage & Sound

Claudio Ortiz, a seasoned massage therapist, has hands that are continually immersed in his work as a healer and community organizer. With a gentle and loving posture, he has walked with his clients on their wellness journeys for over 10 years, leveraging specialized training in Orthopedic Manual Therapy, Myofacial Manipulation, Advanced Pain Management, and Medical Message.

Claudio was born in Puerto Rico and mainland-raised in Charlotte where, after 6 years of service in the US Army, he returned to earn a BS from the University of North Carolina in Exercise Science and Kinesiology. With that knowledge, he aligned his path with modalities that collaborate with the body to rediscover connection to self, others, and the collective.

Outside of his massage studio, he enjoys blending his passions for the outdoors and music, creating a variety of multicultural community events. As an avid cyclist, he’s created annual community bike-in movie nights, local university lecture series, races, and local government engagement rides. Claudio is a founding member of Cohoba, a BIPOC led nonprofit fostering mental health and wellness for Charlotte’s diverse and bilingual population, where he facilitates healing backcountry education experiences.

Claudio's musical journey spans 15 years, encompassing bands, plays, and art installations. He uses the Congas to explore Afro-Caribbean rhythms. His solo performances blend live-looped percussion, electronic samples, and beats for unique, immersive, experiences. He’s currently studying this culture’s tradition of using sound for connection and healing with excitement to connect his practices of massage and sound to build more vibrant, and vibrating, communities.
